Best Free Online Resources: Design Edition

Continuing our series on free online resources that students should know about, this week we have our design edition. Here are some of our favorite free design resources right now:

It is helpful for design beginners because it is user-friendly and has a wide range of resources that make it easy to create visually appealing designs.

  2. Pixlr: Pixlr is a photo editing tool that allows users to edit and manipulate images for design projects. It is a helpful resource for designers because it provides a wide range of features and tools that can be used to improve the appearance of images.

  3. Pexels and Unsplash: Pexels and Unsplash are websites that offer free, high-quality stock photos that can be used for design projects. They are helpful resources for designers because they provide a wide range of images that can be used for a variety of purposes.

  4. Giphy: Giphy is a website that offers a wide range of free GIFs that can be used for design projects. It is a helpful resource for designers because it provides access to a wide range of GIFs that can be used to add visual interest to designs.

  5. Google Fonts: Google Fonts is a website that offers a wide range of free fonts and icons that can be used for design projects. It is a helpful resource for designers because it provides access to a wide range of fonts that can be used to add visual interest to designs.

  8. Midjourney: Though there are many alternatives, Midjourney is our favorite AI art tool, perfect for making your ideas come to life or just for testing out new concepts. Using Midjourney in combination with Lexica can be extremely powerful; Lexica provides images with the prompts used to create them, which will give you a good sense of how to use these generative AI art tools. While these are our favorites, there are still plenty more free solutions that perform similar functions to each of these. You should also do some research to make sure you choose the tool that best suits your needs.
